And I ride it often, and use ethanol/gas additive, occasionally the bike sputteres when first starting up, but it's been going strong for 15k now. I chose the 1090 over the 1290 to save money and to reduce the amount of electronics. they are both bulletproof. #3. Lewilewi and BamaDirt like this.
Rider weight, seating position, rake/trail, tire pressure and others affect how the bike ‘feels’ and reacts to imputs. He appears to be an experienced rider and has a small offroad track he uses to test his settings.
The 1090r should be similarly equipped (currently seeking applicants) Comparison Points: 1. Weight - This is a critical factor IMHO to every rider. -Fully Fueled (i.e. max weight) 2. On Road Manners. -Wind coverage, turning radius, parking, getting on/off, MPG's, etc.
The 790 will hang on till about 70 mph at which point the 1290 trashes the 790. I would imagine the 890 Adv R 0-60 with a similar configuration would even be closure, but in the end there is no replacement for displacement. #36. Nosotros Racing , Aug 20, 2021. #37.
I found that, sure enough, the final 3 shims that influence the high-speed damping were very stiff, being .15 mm thickness, while the rest of the stack uses .10 mm shims. I replaced those shims with .10 mm shims, and adjusted the low speed stack a bit, then buttoned everything back up.
