Find the fuse that belongs to the windshield washer fluid motor. Pull it out and make sure it is not burned out. Check the power to the windshield washer pump. Use a digital multimeter to check whether power goes to the windshield pump. You need to set your multimeter to measure DC 20-volt mode.
Diesel Benz. The 400 CDI has an issue with the chain but the first problem is that the balancer gear skips teeth, the balancer starts to rotate at an incorrect phase, obviously making the engine vibrate strangely. This issue has been fixed with new parts that prevent the balancer go off-phase.
Excess Vibration. A common issue with the 220 CDI is excessive noise or vibration. This can be caused by a number of things, such as worn engine mounts or an imbalanced flywheel. i have a 2002 Mercedes Benz G400 CDI. The problem is that the turbos don't always work. When I first drive it they work for 5 to 10 minutes, then they stop working and the transmission works with a 2000rpm limit, shifting through gears as if that was the red line. If I turn the car off for a few hours, they then work again for 5 to 10 minutes
W164 Mercedes Cold Start Issue. I have an ML 320 (W164) 2006. I'm experiencing a cold start issue, the car takes 2 - 3 cranks of 5 seconds or so to start and then an excessive amount of white smoke (un-burned Diesel) is discharged out of the exhaust system. 1: Glow Plugs.
MB ML 400 Cdi, 2004, problem enginecontrol/automatic gear. First 10 min driving no problem. The automatic gear incl kick-down is normal. After 10 min the aut gear locks up at the highest step. Kick-down does not work. Tip-Tronic works and I can change gear manually. If the engine stops some minutes the problem is gone for a while.
